One Community Now
One Community has been more than a 15-year process of planning and design leading up to the point we are at now where we are working on the final necessary details for permitting so we can move onto the property and actually demonstrate and open source share the process of building and doing everything described on this website. Some aspects of the project are complete, many are 100s to 1000s of hours into the design process, and some are still needing to be designed almost entirely. BUSY PEOPLE WORKING ON AMBITIOUS GOALS
With a venture as ambitious as this, we are a busy group working together with everyone we can join forces with as we continue to create what we feel is a path to a completely sustainable planet and a new paradigm of truly fulfilled living for The Highest Good of All. Our group is a collaboration of the Core Pioneer Team that will move onto the property and actually build One Community and our constantly expanding team of Consultants and Partners helping us. Members of the Pioneer Team invest a required minimum of 4 weekly hours up to (in the case of Jae) 40-60+ hours each week, and Consultants and Partners volunteer as many hours as they wish.
WHAT THE PIONEER EXPERIENCE IS NOW
One interesting thing about our team is that while we have become in many cases really close friends, our group is not formed from people with pre-existing friendships and associations. Everyone on this team comes from a different walk of life and background drawn together by the shared One Community vision and taking pleasure in the process of its creation. We are a 100% volunteer team and most of us have a diversity of other things happening in our life so minimum project contributions to be a Pioneer are low. Also, because we are not on the property yet, and our Pioneers and Consultants and Partners span the globe, we are organizing and working together mostly virtually.
What this means is that we use a combination of on-line collaborative spaces and tools for accountability, planning and design, and to keep all the developing aspects of One Community moving forward. We meet weekly using Welcome Teams, Project Teams, and Monday Night calls as discussion, development, and team-building forums and we get together in “real space” whenever we can. Our largest gatherings as a group happen when we host consensus trainings.
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A ONE COMMUNITY PIONEER
If you or someone you know is considering becoming a One Community Pioneer, the top attributes we feel are important are an ability to think outside the box and a desire to truly pioneer a new way of experiencing life and making a difference in the interest of The Highest Good of All. Our group is a team that believes the time has come for a completely new model of living and we aren’t waiting for someone to do it for us, we’re creating One Community as the prototype for ourselves and everyone else too. We are banding together with like-minded, conscious and conscientious, and forward-thinking people like ourselves and doing what needs to be done.
We are dedicated and accountable and, with a minimum weekly contribution of only 4 hours, each person is as giving of their time and energy as they can be. Some of us are able to contribute more while others are only able to contribute the minimum, and together we maintain our cooperative momentum and movement towards the future our team knows is possible because we know the impact we are already having and the potential we’ve only begun to release.
