Andrew Sadera – Architect Drafter and Student: Andrew is a student of architecture with 5 years architecture drafting experience. For the past two years Andrew has operated Sadera Designs with experience covering everything from room additions, T.I.’s, custom homes, to new buildings.  He is the president of the architecture club at his school and has his associates degree in architecture, architectural drafting, CAD and eco building.  With a passion for architecture, sustainable living, and building greener environments and buildings, Andrew is helping  One Community with the Center of Peace evolution.

Avery Ellis, Permaculture Designer, One Community ConsultantAvery Ellis – Ecological Designer and Aquaponics Specialist: Avery has a Masters of Ecological Design through SFIA, a BS in Biology from Stockton College, and a Permaculture Design and Teaching Certificate from High Altitude Permaculture in Colorado where he runs an aquaponics business called Integrated Aquaponics. Avery has always dreamed of being a part of an ecovillage from its earliest roots to a productive community and has joined the One Community Consultant Team as a contributor to our aquaponics and greenhouse development with a pledge and desire to join us on the property for several weeks to help with building them too.

One Community Consultant, Biko Casini, Earthbuilder, Sustainability ExpertBiko Casini – Sustainable Building Expert, Permaculturalist, and Journeyman Mason: Biko was trained at a young age in masonry by his father Francesco Casini whom he worked with growing up and restoring plantation homes and churches in the South. Biko then spent years as a student and employee at the Ecovillage Training Center where he worked with many natural builders and permaculturalists to design and build the ETC campus. He also studied sustainable building and development in South Africa at the Thlolego Development Project and recently completed a 3-month internship at the Cal-Earth Institute of Art and Architecture in California. With 16 years of natural building experience, Biko  has built with Stone, Cob, Straw Bale, Adobe, Straw Clay Slip, and Cord Wood in the US,  South Africa, Italy, India, and Ghana and offers his expertise with the diversity of One Community Pod designs.

Bill Pike, Tremendous Bill,

Bill Pike – Entrepreneur and Philanthropist: Bill has been an achiever all his life, starting with award winning and record breaking across 4 sports growing up including quarter-back in football, point guard in basketball, record setting pole vaulter, and second baseman in baseball. After graduating college on the GI Bill, he started working with Elba Systems Corporation as a salesman, rose to president, and then owner where he took Elba onto the NY Stock exchange where his leadership created more than 100 millionaires.

A family man with 40 years of marriage and 2 adopted children, Bill now heads The Pike Foundation to work with kids in the inner cities, is helping build over 100 homes in Haiti, a home for unwed mothers in Branson Missouri, water wells in Africa, a dorm for girls in Moldova to keep them from the sex trade, and more.

Bob Alexander – Sustainable Designer and Consultant: Bob has a long history of working with nature and natural building. With over 15 years of drafting experience he co-founded the Espanola/Los Alamos New Mexico Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and operates LX&R Design specializing in designs incorporating Passive Solar Adobe, Straw Bale, Pumice-crete, Paper-crete and Light-weight Concrete Block. As a consultant to the One Community team, Bob is helping us by sharing his knowledge and experience as we work towards an increasingly more diverse demonstration of sustainable building methods and models. Dr. Connie Stomper – Consensus Trainer, Team Building Facilitator, Curriculum Developer and Educator for Elementary Schools to Graduate Programs, Organizational Consultant, Counselor and Minister of Peace:  Dr. Connie has double masters and doctoral degrees in both Education and Psychology and Spiritual Science.  With her commitment to facilitating individual and world peace, she has worked with organizations such as Peace Theological Seminary, Insight University, A World Fit For Kids, United Youth International.  Her peace work has led her to visiting nearly 30 countries.  In her work with The Community Planet Foundation, she co-created and facilitates training in consciousness of Community and consensus decision-making. Dr. Connie has helped facilitate the consensus training process many of the One Community Pioneers have already completed and is committed to assisting us in our continued progress towards demonstrating a peaceful and consensus-based new way of living. Debra Deanne Olson – Debra has joined our team as Senior Strategist and Chief Liaison with over 30 years of experience connecting people and resources to projects for the higher good. She is a Senior Consultant to Advanced Combustion Technologies, LLC. who’s mission is to design and market innovative “Prolific” hydrogen production systems to drastically reduce fuel consumption and costs. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Yes Web and NewVisionsFnd.org. Since 1999 Debra has been an active participant and supporter of Hanne Strong’s efforts and projects, including The Earth Restoration Corps. She is also on the One Community writing team, editing and authoring “The People’s Agenda 21” to be launched worldwide through our extensive social media network.

Debra was an organizer for the Women’s Global Peace Initiative held at the UN in Geneva, 2002, is a long-time participant in other Summits and Conferences throughout this decade, and is happy to now focus on showcasing new models and ways of living where ordinary citizens are able to participate, flourish, and have their voices heard. With both the People’s Agenda 21 and One Community, she is working with our team to formulate and implement an action plan to engage both public/private donors and to find leaders with “best practice” companies who support sustainable development and want to build partnerships founded on the win-win principles of the One Community philosophy. Master Electrician, One Community ConsultantGeorge Nguyen – Licensed Electrician: George is a Licensed Electrician with over seventeen years in electrical construction. He has assembled, installed and tested electrical systems on over two hundred condos and homes, Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, Biomolecular Nanotechnology Center at UC Berkeley, Oakland International Airport, and more. As a consultant to One Community, George has pledged continued help with our energy infrastructure as it continues to evolve and any specific questions arise.

Jack Reed - One Community Consultant, The Next Evolution Community, Jack Reed – Global Visionary and Author of “The Next Evolution: A Blueprint for Transforming the Planet“: Jack is a speaker, seminar leader, consultant for corporations and non-profit organizations, and trainer in the consensus process and mindsets and methodologies of people dedicated to a future supportive of the highest good for all concerned. He has 15 years experience living in an urban cooperative community where he was an active leader and has used his knowledge and experience to help such clients as The Wilderness Institute, Amgen, the Educare Foundation, the Peace Theological Seminary, The University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Unified School District, Southern California Edison, and the National Parks Service. Jack has also trained 12 members of the One Community team in the consensus process with a pledge to continue assisting us in this capacity and more as we move towards our shared vision of a sustainable planet and demonstrating a blueprint for a civilization founded on the highest good of all concerned.

Joel Goings – Business Development and Implementation Expert: Joel has initiated and cultivated relationships with majority stock holders of over 350 privately held companies through his unique ability to identify and engage a target audience through the simplification of complicated concepts and a gift for creating and improving forward looking strategies. In his free time Joel has refined the process of drawing an online audience from inspiration to action, resulting in over 300+ events.Joel has also been, and continues to be, a foundational part of the creation, refinement, and evolution of One Community by applying his distinctive skills to help us better communicate our message and engage the people that One Community resonates with most.

John ChambersJohn Chambers – Earth Builder Consulting with us on Pod 1: Born in Portsmouth, England. John is a nomadic green builder/designer committed to learning and applying the principles of living with a developed degree of responsibility and accountability for human impact. He has worked in South East Asia and Central America and now shares his knowledge and gifts in North America having completed his training in 2010 at the California Institute of Earthen Art and Architecture and then gaining considerable experience through 7 months of full-time building, designing, and living in Super-Adobe as a full crew/community member on the Bonita Domes Project in Joshua Tree, CA.

Josh Davis – Website Designer and Graphic Artist: Josh is a self taught web and graphic designer operating Digital Empathy Design, a website dedicated to integrated body-mind-spirit and technology solutions. He also founded and directs The Human Mandala Project, an initiative designed to help join people in communities of all kinds by creating sacred geometric forms with human bodies, capturing them digitally for reflection.  Josh provides invaluable support for One Community on the technology side and has been foundational in the creation of our internet presence.

sustainable designer, sustainable energy designerJP Novak – Renewable Energy and Power Backup Systems Designer:  JP currently works at Native Construction and Renewables and has a four year degree from James Madison University in Business Finance (’03) and also holds certification by the National Association for Board Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) for designing and installing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. With a passion for sustainability, community and family, JP (email him) sees reducing electric bills and our reliance on central electric utilities as essential and most easily accomplished by focusing on practical, reliable, and productive renewable energy and backup power systems. In his free time, JP likes spending time with family, organizing community building events, studying energy architecture, writing educational pieces on renewables for both the novice and expert readers, and helping One Community with our energy infrastructure and the Center of Peace evolution.

Kyle Rodgers– Direct and Face to Face Marketing Expert – Kyle started his sales and marketing experience when he was 14 and has been in sales ever since including success and leadership in what is arguably the most difficult sales environment available: door to door sales. With a true gift and love of relationship building and sales, Kyle is now a Telecommunications Regional Sales Manager and shares the vision and goals of One Community. A solid proponent of resource based economy development and open source sharing, Kyle has spent countless hours on the phone with Jae learning the details of One Community and our world changing vision and now operates in a supportive sales and marketing role as we continue to grow and spread our shared vision and values.

One Community Consultant, One Community Physicist, Environmental Protection AgencyLorenzo Zjalarre – Physicist and Energy Efficiency Expert: After having completed 4-years of education at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, Lorenzo first started as a physicist in support of NASA Space Shuttle missions at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX; later continuing his government work as a nuclear remediation consultant for the Environmental Protection Agency at Rocky Flats, CO. Taking this experience to the next level, Lorenzo has spent the last 4 years studying all forms of alternative energy with specific interest in the more exotic technologies where he knows the potential exists to completely eliminate the use of fossil fuels. For over a year, Lorenzo has been foundational to leading the alternative energy development aspect of One Community with the shared vision of creating a complete city that pioneers and showcases the most cutting edge sustainable energy technologies of our time.

Transformational Educator, Mark Sabol, One Community Consultant, One Community Education Program, Open Source EducationDr. Mark Sabol – Transformational Educator: After years as a joyous father and co-founder and operator of a preschool daycare, Mark realized at age 38 that his purpose in life was to include children, teaching, and learning at an even more significant level. He completed his B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 1991 and began teaching in public schools. He now also holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Washington. Although he spent 7 years coordinating a family-literacy program for his school district, the classroom is Mark’s first love and he happily brings his decades of experience as a consultant to the developing One Community education program.

Matt Richards – Permaculture Expert, Community Veteran, and Online Media Professional: Matthew graduated from UCSB with a degree in anthropology in 1991. He then went into the online media world to assist building a number of companies that helped to fuel the explosion of the internet. After spending 8 years in silicon valley, he left to take on a new challenge: Sustainability. He spent the next three years immersing himself in everything related to sustainable economics, communities and permaculture. Matthew received his permaculture design certificate in the UK in 2009 and went on to practice permaculture at many locations around the world including a Sepp Holzer project (Tamera, Portugal), in Sadhana forest (Auroville, India), and most recently under Geoff Lawton and the Permaculture Research Institute in Australia. Matthew’s has been foundational in helping design and plan both One Community’s aquaponics designs as well as our watercatchment and conservation plans.

landscape architecture, landscape architect, One Community Consultant, Meg WestMeg West – Landscape Architect, LEED AP, Permaculturalist, and Green Building Instructor:  Meg is a licensed Landscape Architect whose work is dedicated to merging aesthetics and function. Her genuine passion for sustainable design informs every aspect of her work. In 2009, she founded Leaf Landscape, a division of Arcadia Studio. She hosts “Garden Wise Television Santa Barbara County,” a public access TV show about sustainable gardening. Meg is also an instructor at UCSB extension, where she teaches Fire Smart Landscaping, Native and Edible Plants, and Sustainable Landscape Design.  Meg’s dream is to live in an eco-village community near her home in Santa Barbara and sees helping One Community create the open source blueprints for such a community as supportive of this dream and her commitment to a sustainable planet for all. To this end, Meg is sharing her expertise and helping One Community with our site planning and has pledged to join us for a couple weeks to further share her experience once we are on the property.

Michael Doll – Eco-Architect, Artisan and Virtual Design Expert: Michael operates Studio M Doll where he works to demonstrate that carbon neutrality architecture has a significant role in providing enclosure that is in tune with nature. With an amazing list of architectural accomplishments, Michael shares One Community’s values of sustainability, dedication to unique architecture that breaks away from traditional values, people over profit, and helping to make the world a better place; bringing his years of experience as a consultant to our project with a willingness to help us by answering questions and providing guidance as needed for development and implementation of our open source eco-building strategy for world change.

Mechanical Engineer, One Community Consultant, World ChangerMichael Harbin – Mechanical Engineer: Michael graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida with his Mechanical Engineering degree and is currently WWOOFing as his chosen form of sustainability immersion and continued education. Michael has always been mechanically inclined and has a history of home building helping his father build homes as part of his grandfather’s business and gaining further experience with the mechanics of designing a house, how to analyze a design and quickly ascertain whether the house is structurally sound, and how to improve a design to incorporate eco-friendly elements. With a shared vision for global change and a sustainable future for humanity, Michael has pledged to help where needed now (Pod 1aquaponics design, etc.) and may also be joining us as a Pioneer at a later date.

One Community Consultant, Civil EngineerMike Devloo – Licensed P.E./Civil Engineer: Mike lives in Colorado, USA, and has enjoyed a diverse career path exploring since 2007 a broad spectrum of opportunities from construction writing, to sustainable building design and construction, to teaching, to raft guiding in India. Mike enjoys an outdoor lifestyle and is an avid cyclist, kayaker, snowboarder, and traveler, always ready for a new adventure. Natasha Clarke, One Community Consultant, earthbuilderNatasha Clarke – Earth Builder and Wild Crafter: A world traveler and consummate learner and teacher, Natasha has spent her life assimilating and sharing a diversity of creative and artistic skills all over the world from interactive art in Amsterdam and Moscow with Raylab, to constructing a solar/pedal/sail 19′ trimaran through a partnership with Nomadic Research Labs, to metal work, video editing, websites and graphics, and recently building her own super adobe dome on her land in Camano Island. She has studied herbalism with Matthew Wood at the School of Traditional Western Herbalism and now designs and sells Wild Craft Bags and Wild Craft Benches. As part of continued path to share her learnings and creativity, Natasha has joined the Consulting Team of One Community to help us with Pod 1 through her experience and knowledge from building her own super adobe dome home.

Roderick des Tombe, One Community ConslutantsRoderick Des Tombe – Sustainability Entrepreneur and Founder of Pulau Macan Eco Village Resort: Roderick has shared a similar vision to One Community for over a decade and built Pulau Macan as his pilot project 5 years ago in an archipelago above Jakarta in Indonesia. He is now working on a South Jakarta city based community center / innovation center / evolutionary node and collaborating with the Taman Petanu project in Bali to create Indonesia’s first modern eco neighborhood. A big believer in open source knowledge sharing, Roderick brings his amazing energy and experience to join forces with One Community and help us as we develop our comprehensive blueprints for a sustainable civilization, eco-tourism education model, and shared vision for the future of sustainability and our planet.

Ron Dewhurst, One Community ConsultantRonald Dewhurst – Eco-consultant, Entrepreneur, and Sustainable Business Development Expert: Ronald’s career in technology and business development spans over 30 years from the development of new venture technology companies to creating new sustainable business ventures in eco-housing, eco–farming and rainforest management. Highlights of Ronald’s professional career include the design and development of “Telosky Village,” a housing project recognized as one of the landmarks of new innovative housing design and featured in a design and technology symposium in Milan, Italy in 1989 as one of the ten most important projects in the World; creation of the “User Friendly Home” located in Vancouver, BC, a housing project co-sponsored by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation which showcased and demonstrated innovative housing design and technologies; and Co-Founder of Urban Communications and Urban Networks, one of the leading next generation optical network providers in Canada. Ron is presently working on numerous eco-projects in Central and South America including consulting to the “Better in Belize” eco-community, and a carbon sequestration project providing monetary stimulus, sustainable business, and social development to halt rainforest destruction.

Scott Balcom, Paradigm Innovators, One Community Industry Consultant

Scott Balcom – Innovator, Master Sustainable Builder and Non-linear Building Techniques Expert: Scott is a master carpenter/builder with 30 years of hands on experience including working with adobe, rammed earth, foam block and 5 years of building straw bale homes in Tucson Arizona from 1984-1999 where he framed one of the very first straw bale houses in the country and featured in both The Straw Bale House and The Beauty of Straw Bale Homes by Athena and Bill Steen. At the same time, Scott also started the sport of high slacklining (like tight rope, but uses tubular neon webbing) in 1983, innovating simple technological advancements to make it all possible and becoming the first person in the world to walk the Lost Arrow Spire (one of the highest high walks in the world at 2,989 feet) on a slack line in 1985. With a lifetime of experience thinking out of the box, Scott’s passion now is in addressing the issues of “the perpendicular paradigm”  of architecture and building and he has spent the last several years in the development of “Non-linear Building Techniques” that mimic nature; bringing these revolutionary techniques and decades of experience in both traditional and sustainable building with the intent to help us incorporate the best of all three worlds as a consultant to the building and design evolutions of One Community’s Pod 1, Pod 2, and beyond.

straw bale builder, ecobuild, ecobuilderScott Howard – Sustainable Building Expert and Architectural Artisan: Scott founded Earthen Hand Natural Building in 2002 to promote cutting edge building technologies through education. He builds and teaches natural building workshops around the world with his most notable achievements including: inspiring thousands of students; a 23 ft earthbag sound dome in Thailand (2004); a 17 ft earthbag dome in Dogon Country, Mali (2009); and a Passive Annual Heat Storage earthbag home in Washinton state (2011). He is currently teaming up with two other designer/builders to create Ecotecture International, to take on larger projects with intent to help people discover healthier and happier living.
