Ecological Community for a sustainable future: One Community

Defining the Ecological Community

The future is defining the ecological community to include continual open source contributions to the world and all aspects of ethical and fulfilled living because, as David Eisenberg said, “The way to subvert the dominant paradigm is to have more fun than they do and make sure they know it.” It’s not clear when humanity decided that sustainability should just be about food, energy and shelter but it is clear what really makes us happy runs much deeper. Taking this realization and things like personal growth, meaningful relationships, and a life of significance, variety and contribution, things that cater to our cultural and personal values, and making them a part of the sustainable model too just makes sense.

THE PIECES ALREADY EXIST

Think about it, really think about it. Is it so hard to believe that such a community and culture can be created when everything it represents is already being done in pieces by literally millions of people? Most people don’t even have to pause to know that there already exists at least 100 successful examples of all of the pieces that are being brought together to demonstrate and share as our open source blueprint for a sustainable civilization:

All of these things have already been done, most for thousands of years by a variety of cultures in places all around the world, what is different now is the ability to bring the people interested in supporting and creating this kind of a community and culture together, and the ability to share this creation. This is what One Community is doing, and we are reaching out and organizing with the people that realize that gathering all of these components into one working and duplicable model and sharing it is the obvious next progression in the ever evolving human story.

AND THE WORLD HAS NEVER BEEN MORE READY

Information, communication, the desire for something different, and a consciousness of living and loving life as something much more than just competition and survival has never been greater. We believe bringing the people together who agree and want to join the open source movement for creating a better life for everyone through an ecological community and culture of creation, collaboration, cooperation, and global improvement is the natural next step and that is what we are doing.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN CHANGE

Take a look at our open source page, our social architecture page, and our why sustainability page as good places to start for a better understanding of exactly how we are accomplishing this and what One Community and the One Community Non-profit Organization are creating. The ecological community movement already exists – we just see a more comprehensive and inviting version of it as the future of sustainability and the key to the creation of a more mainstream sustainability approach and on-going sustainable world change.

Welcome to One Community ~ For The Highest Good of All

"In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model.

You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called."
~ Buckminster Fuller ~
